Mimimark

Common questions

Will this stop leaks?

No — the file can still be forwarded. But each copy has its own mark. If it's readable, you can see who you sold that copy to, then contact the buyer or report the post. The visible “Licensed to …” line also reminds buyers that the copy has their name on it.

Can I mark images as well as PDFs?

Yes: JPG, PNG and WEBP — illustrations, prints, stickers and photos. The same hidden pattern is added to create a personal copy. On very dark images, the pattern can be hard to read, so you may want to add a visible line too.

Where do my files go?

Nowhere. Everything is processed in your browser, on your computer or phone. The page is set up to block outgoing data requests. Your files are not sent to a server.

What if someone takes a screenshot or a photo of the screen?

The main hidden mark is an almost invisible pattern across the page. It usually survives screenshots, Telegram compression, cropping, rotation and phone photos. The image needs to be reasonably sharp: blur or strong glare can make the mark unreadable.

Is the mark visible? Will it spoil my chart?

At the default “medium” setting, the pattern looks like a barely noticeable warm tint on the page. Colours, lines and symbols remain clear. The “high” setting gives a more visible texture for printing. Check the finished copy before sending it.

What if the buyer prints and scans the file?

A colour scan usually preserves the mark. Scanner apps that turn pages into pure black and white can erase the pattern. If you added a visible line with the buyer's name, it may still help — unless it was cropped out.

Where is my buyer list stored?

Only in this browser, on this computer or phone. Clearing the site's data deletes the list; it won't appear automatically on another computer. Click “Save a backup” once a week to save a file you can import later. If you enable the option to store the buyer's name inside the file, a PDF or image can also be checked elsewhere without the list. For screenshots and photos, you need the list.

Is this legal protection?

No, and this is not legal advice. The tool helps you identify a buyer's copy and fill in a copyright complaint template. The platform decides whether to remove the content.
